History in Practice engages students in the process of "doing history" via source analysis and synthesis. Its multi-step, inquiry-based approach guides students from the basics of understanding a source to creating informed examinations of the historical world. There are three sections within each module, and each section includes the following:

This unique collection of primary source documents represents a broad cross-section of voices from across the globe and across time. Covering a wide variety of political, economic, social, and cultural topics, each document includes an introduction contextualizing the source. Review questions highlighting key themes additionally supplement select documents.
