Williams, Musics of the World

  • Music

Description

Musics of the World offers a rich introduction and eighteen area chapters that consistently locate the reader in a region’s cultural context before exploring what makes each place musically unique. Each chapter features three very different musical genres with links to videos, timed musical tracks, definitions, color photographs, recipes, and discussion questions. The writing style is upbeat and welcoming, and instructors can use the book with confidence, knowing that they won’t get too bogged down in theory or difficult terminology.
