NCR describes itself as being “at the centre of the self-service revolution”.  This activity looks at how they are enabling the introduction of this concept into a range of industry sectors

Activity Description

First of all go to the NCR home page in order to get an overview of the company.  Then go to the ’Solutions’ page.  This identifies the industry sectors that NCR provide technology for, as follows:

  • Financial Services
  • Retail
  • Restaurants
  • Cinemas and Theatres
  • Stadiums and Events
  • Travel
  • Telecom and Technology
  • Small Business
  • Public Sector

Take two sectors that you think are different to each other in order to compare and contrast the technologies designed for them. Consider:

  • What technologies are the same or similar in both sectors?
  • What technologies are unique to that sector?
  • Why are these technologies unique?
