Online activity 3.1

Overview

You are being processed nearly all the time.  Sometimes this is obvious, like when you are queuing for a bus or the cinema.  But sometimes it is not, like when your bank monitors your financial transactions to ensure you do not exceed your spending limit. 

Activity Description

Select a day during which you will identify every process type that you interact with, from the moment you leave home in the morning, to the moment you get home at night.  Since it is you that is being processed, you are only considering customer processing operations, of which there are three process types – professional service, service shop, and mass service.

This may be harder than it seems.  Some things will be easy to identify.  If you go to the doctor, it is clearly a professional service.  But other things may be more difficult as what constitutes low or high volume and high or low variety depends on the context and your own interpretation.
