Critical Thinking Exercise 1: Defining Critical Thinking
Critical thinking can be defined in many ways. One way in which it is defined involves suspending your beliefs to explore and question what goes on in organizations as if starting with a blank page. It may involve the ability to separate fact from opinion when exploring a topic. For example you could pretend that you have never seen a major golf championship before. You might ask; what are these people doing? Why are they hitting a white ball around a field? Why do women compete separately from men? Why can’t spectators join in?
Do you think this kind of thinking could be useful to you? Can you look at the organizations to which you belong and question what is going on, starting with a blank page?
