1. What are the differences between capitalism and socialism?
Answer: Capitalism supports an economic system where private individuals or corporate groups own the means of production and distribution and invest in private capital to produce goods and services to be sold for a profit in the marketplace. Socialism began flourishing in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In contrast to capitalism, socialism supports the public ownership of the means of production and distribution and the investment of public capital in the production of goods and services.

Canada has one of the worst workplace fatality rates—6.1 deaths per 100,000 workers—among OECD countries. This is because of the higher involvement of people in dangerous work of resource extraction such as mining, logging, fishing, and oil drilling.
