Queries how far a purchaser of unregistered land should go in attempting to find out about any adverse rights which affect the land being purchased. Considers that perhaps the decision in Kingsnorth Trust Ltd v Tizard [1986] on this issue is a step too far in terms of what a purchaser is expected to do.

Looks at the historical development of the jurisdiction of equity, the availability of equitable remedies (including their common features and the circumstances in which equitable remedies may be denied).
