Dick Hebdige’s (1981) classic book details the style and aesthetic of youth protest movements. The book is useful to students who are interested in Marxist approaches to the meaning of style.

This documentary follows a diverse group of people who identify as minimalists. It is a good example of a counterculture.

This is an academic journal that publishes peer-reviewed articles and research on the subject of popular and mass culture.

Reddit is an online bulletin-board style website where members discuss issues relevant to culture and society. The website is known for its open and diverse user base and it provide an interesting forum where members or diverse cultures can debate and discuss social issues.

Jean Boulay is a street photographer who lives in Ottawa, Ontario. He created the book Mindlessly Adrift with street poet “Crazzy Dave Dessler.” The book is an artistic and social project that includes poetry and photography that highlights street culture in Ottawa.
