Red Bull GmbH is an Austrian company which sells the Red Bull energy drink. In 2011, a total of 4.631 billion cans were sold in over 161 countries. Red Bull uses extreme sports and adrenaline events as a huge part of its marketing campaigns in order to create brand associations of risk, endurance, adrenaline and the spectacular. In addition to the highly publicised space jump by Felix Baumgartner, the company has sponsored various other ‘extreme’ events, as this picture gallery by British newspaper, The Telegraph, illustrates.
