You may wish to refer directly to the parties’ webpages. The Ninth European Parliament – elected in the 2019 elections and set to remain in office until the 2024 elections – consists of seven political groups and 17 parties, of which two are not aligned with any group. The parties are:

On the concept of democracy as such, several interesting ideas have been put forth in various TED Talks. Former Prime Minister of Greece George Papandreou presented a TED Talk on the future of democracies, as did Brett Hennig, and Rory Stewart.
