It is always worth to stay engaged with and interested in current affairs regarding the EU and its politics, but also on the long-term questions surrounding European history, present and future. Students of EU politics might wish to pay attention to a variety of viewpoints and opinions on the EU (as well as on other issues!) to broaden their perspectives. The study of Europe offers a look at a rich history and of course much data, as well as interesting and at times divisive political and philosophical questions.
Some interesting video content on the EU to engage with and consider critically includes:
- ‘The Death of Europe’, with Douglas Murray – a conversation – by the Hoover Institution,
- ‘Europe on the Edge’ – a panel – by Intelligence Squared,
- ‘The US and its Relationship with the European Union’ – a talk by European Union Ambassador to the United States Stavros Lambrinidis – via Amherst College,
- ‘This House Believes the European Project Has Been A Failure’ – Bicentenary Debate at the Cambridge Union – via the Cambridge Union,
- Yanis Varoufakis at the Cambridge Union in 2019 – a speech – via the Cambridge Union,
- Islam in Europe – Full Head-to-Head Debate at the Oxford Union – via the Oxford Union,
- ‘Europe is Kaput. Long Live Europe!’ - Slavoj Žižek, Yanis Varoufakis and Julian Assange – panel – via Southbank Centre,
- ‘The EU is a Threat to Democracy’ – debate (playlist of videos) at the Oxford Union in 2013.
