Investigate the concepts and phenomena presented in the book in a fully interactive way with these numbered web links, which are organised by chapter and cross-referenced from the text. To access the web links go to the Chapter List.

Notes on viewing the web links

The weblinks have been updated (2016) so that they now use JavaScript, rather than Java. They should therefore run on just about any browser without creating any security issues. Performance may vary from browser to browser, and for best performance Chrome or Safari are recommended.

These web resources were developed in their original form by James Keeler, Stephen Elliott, Christopher Kerr and Steven Smith. They were rewritten into JavaScript and further enhanced by Jamie Wiles. The rendering of orbitals and molecular structures is done using JSmol: an open-source HTML5 viewer for chemical structures in 3D http://wiki.jmol.org/index.php/JSmol. We acknowledge with thanks the developers of this open-source program.
