Overview
This video systematically takes you through how a six sigma project is executed in a fabrication plant.

Activity Description
The video shows how six sigma software can be used to manage a project.  In doing so it explains the DMAIC process, along with process mapping and Pareto analysis.  It is 20 minutes long – but it is well worth sticking with it!

Consider:

  • How complex, time consuming and costly might this project be?
  • If the pay off is a saving of $500,000 is it worth doing?

NB If you think that such big savings can be made rarely, one of authors of the book has a son-in-law who is a six sigma Green Belt.  In 2017 he worked on two projects, both of which were going to save his company around £500,000.
