Case Study 1: Introduction

Case Study One is a stand-alone case study for Part One of the text. Read through the documents and answer the following questions:

  1. Has the solicitor complied with all of their professional conduct obligations?
  2. Has the client had all of their questions answered?

Your firm, Burrell, Young and Hepple Solicitors, is a medium-sized firm in Longtown, England. Your firm offers family law advice on most matters and has a public funding franchise. You are starting your family law seat and will be advising on a number of different matters.

Your supervisor asks you to see a client and you compile an attendance note  of the interview and advice.

Following your meeting with Mr Kagiri, you write a client care letter.

It appears that the firm has given full advice and has met its professional conduct obligations.
