Introduction Guidance on Answering the Questions in the Book

The following guidance seeks to assist in the discussion of the “Questions for discussion” that have been included at the end of each chapter in the textbook. The purpose of the individual questions is to enhance the student’s understanding of the content of the individual chapters as well as to offer an opportunity for the students to engage with the more overarching principles and theories of international law presented in the book. Thus, while some questions ask the students to identify concrete answers, others encourage students to adopt a more holistic view of international law.

NB: Please note that guidance does not seek to offer a complete and exhaustive set of answers to all individual questions but merely serve as a point of departure for the discussion that each question may raise.
