By the end of the chapter, the student will be able to do the following:

- Know the definitions of predatory lender, assets, and subprime loan.
- Understand how asset-based social policy works.
- Express the disparities of wealth that exists among racial groups.
- Understand measures of housing segregation.
- Understand the reverberating negative social impacts of segregated and poor neighborhoods.
