Chapter 7: Authoritarianism
Find a hybrid regime that has some features of democracy and some of authoritarianism. (You may draw upon the website Freedom House at www.freedomhouse.org, looking at countries that are “partly free”, or those that are “not free” yet have regularly scheduled elections, for example.) How would you characterize the extent of democracy in this case, and what would need to happen for you to change your “rating”?
