- Students will be able to identify the economic strategies of Indigenous Peoples of the northern plains.
- Students will understand the nature of the economic and social changes that colonization began to force onto Indigenous Peoples on the Plains and West coast.
- Students will gain insight into the ways in which change was first resisted as the process began to accelerate in the closing years of the eighteenth century.
- Students will learn how the Pacific trade with Indigenous People operated differently from trade east of the Rocky Mountains.
