1. Students will be able to define the concept of pan-Indigenism and will recognize its importance in the shifting political situation of the late eighteenth century.
  2. Students will understand the significance of both the Royal Proclamation of 1763 and the Quebec Act of 1774 in subsequent treaty negotiations.
  3. Students will gain insight into the severe difficulties confronting Indigenous Peoples in the early years of the British Regime.
