Questions 1 – 6 relate to Text A 'Cats are Good Pets'
CATS ARE GOOD PETS
We believe that cats make good pets. There are many, many abandoned cats in animal shelters all around the country. Please think about giving one a good home. Despite the fears that they harm wildlife, there are many advantages of having a cat—especially if they are kept safely inside.
Firstly, cats are quiet and gentle house pets. Cats don't make loud noises like dogs do. They purr gently and spend much of their lives asleep. They can live happily and safely in your house or flat.
Secondly, cats are excellent companions. Can you imagine how lonely many elderly people would be without their moggies? Cats are playful but they are not rough like dogs. There have been a number of reports of cats saving people's lives by warning them of dangers such as fires.
Thirdly, cats keep rodents away and they are cheap to feed. Cats are useful in keeping rodents away, thus preventing disease. Their appetite is small compared to a dog and this means they are cheaper to feed.
Furthermore, cats are clean animals. They groom themselves by licking their fur. They also bury their droppings.
Finally, cats are fabulous pets because they are so lovely to touch and cuddle.
We highly recommend cats as domestic pets—every home should have one. Adopt one today!
