The following websites provide a wealth of interesting resources, with varying amounts of contextual information. A paper assignment asking students to investigate the historical context of an image or collection of images can be a useful way to engage with this material.
US National Library of Medicine Digital Collections
A fascinating collection of posters, images and videos from the history of public health and medicine in the United States. It also includes material from US health programs abroad. For a starting point with a connection to the Peter Brown reading, students can take a look at the cartoon Private Snafu vs. Malaria Mike.
Public Health Image Library – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s image library includes a wealth of historical and current images. Students can search by topic or disease to find images relevant to their interests.

This 1985 hour-long TV program is hard to find, but it contains striking footage of the Smallpox Eradication Program in Bangladesh, including instances of coercion. It provides an excellent companion to the Greenough piece if it is available through your university library.
