World Religions Today
Categorizing religions almost inevitably gives rise to challenges and requires some degree of compromise. Religions, by their very nature, tend not to permit “black and white” descriptions, and instead call for a lot of “gray areas.” This is certainly the case when attempting to describe the geographical locale of the world’s religions; rarely, if ever, does any given geographical region contain only one religion. Still, a map of the world—like this one—that identifies the majority religion of each country is a valuable resource for helping us understand the geographical distribution of religions.
