1. Explain the role of an argument in a research report.
A good research report is more than a collection of findings; it presents a coherent, well-structured, and thoughtful argument. The argument may be descriptive or causal, but the report should provide the reader with evidence that the argument is correct. A research report should also make the argument that these findings are interesting and worth the reader’s attention, answering the question “so what?”
