Figure 6.6: General Organization of the Motor Systems

An illustration depicts the organization of the motor system. The medial motor systems show a loop involving the cerebral cortex to basal ganglia and cerebellum via pons. Cerebellum and basal ganglia loops project back to the cerebral cortex via the thalamus to the spinal cord. The lateral motor systems show a loop connecting the cerebral cortex to the spinal cord.
