Dynamic movement is created by contrasting line weights and the juxtaposition of angular versus horizontal lines. The irregular spaces between the lines and variation in line thickness also create depth.
The horizontal lines, using the principle of grouping, creates vertical movement. The white type, acting as textural lines, slows the viewer's eye movement, which sets up a visual comparison with the diagonal lines' extreme angles.
The large, angular negative shapes create contrast emphasizing the dynamic movement of the diagonal lines. The variation in the thickness and thinness of lines and acute angles creates the illusion of deep space.
The diagonal lines on the left advance while the horizontal lines recede. The viewer's eye movement slows to decipher the white type, which appears to float in front of the horizontal lines. The eye movement then speeds up due to the extreme angular perspective on the right, and the thin horizontal lines encourage the viewer to move off the page. This movement stimulates the viewer to flip over the design.
The design on the back uses a similar rhythmic contrast between the horizontal and angular lines. The placement of the type and the size of type simultaneously acts as textural lines and an ending point to the dynamic movement.
