Instructions

In this experiment, you will be presented with items sequentially, which you will need to report back in the order they were presented to you.

1. At the beginning of each trial you will see a fixation ‘+’ which you should focus on. When you are ready to begin a trial, press the space bar.
2. You will be presented with a series of digits, letters, or words. Try to remember as many of the digits, letters, or words as possible. The item types will vary from trial to trial. At the end of the experiment you will see why this manipulation was also included. When you have gone through the series, you will be asked to click on the boxes showing the items in the order you saw them. For example if you were shown “7, 9, 6, 5, 1” you would click the corresponding boxes below in the order “7, 9, 6, 5, 1”.
3. You will then begin the next trial.

You will complete 3 practice trials, followed by 20 experimental trials. At the end, your responses on experimental trials will be shown. Press "Next" to begin.
