Instructions
In this experiment, you will be presented with 1 to 3 letters. You will be asked to identify if there is an ‘O’ or a ‘T’ present in the string of letters. After your practice trials, the experiment is broken down into three segments, where you will focus on either speed, accuracy, or a balance of the two, as directed.
- At the beginning of each trial you will see a fixation ‘+’ which you should focus on. When you are ready to begin a trial, press the space bar.
- You will be presented with 1 to 3 letters on the screen. If there is an ‘O’ presented anywhere, press the ‘O’ key. If there is a ‘T’ presented anywhere, press the ‘T’ key. Remember to focus on speed, accuracy, or a balance of the two, as directed.
- After you respond you will be given feedback as to whether your response was fast enough or too slow, or whether your response was correct or incorrect. Then the fixation for the next trial will begin.
You will complete 15 practice trials and 72 experimental trials. At the end, your accuracy and speed results on experimental trials will be shown. Press "Next" to begin.
