Debriefing
In the experiment, you were shown depictions of places that were likely familiar to you with a twist; the scenes intentionally omitted things that are commonly found in such places. For example, there were no books in the picture of the office. The word list always included one item intentionally omitted from the scene, and whether or not you reported having seen that item was recorded. Typically, participants report common but omitted objects as having been in scenes about 75% of the time.
