Portugal Ferreira, M. (2011). A bibliometric study on Ghoshal's managing across borders. Multinational Business Review, 19(4), 357-375.
This paper examines the impact of Sumantra Ghoshal's work on the study of subsidiaries and multinational enterprises and organizational formats for foreign operations. Useful for graduate students and in writing a literature review, this paper presents an interesting manner to examine a scholar's and a theory's impact on a discipline.

Kolk, A., Rivera-Santos, M., & Rufín, C. (2014). Reviewing a decade of research on the “base/bottom of the pyramid”(BOP) concept. Business & Society, 53(3), 338-377.
The review shows that the BOP concept evolved dramatically following Prahalad’s original call to multinational enterprises (MNEs). Deemphasizing the role of MNEs over time, published BOP articles portray a more complex picture, with wide variations in terms of BOP contexts, of BOP initiatives, and of impacts of the BOP approach.

Dow, D., & Karunaratna, A. (2006). Developing a multidimensional instrument to measure psychic distance stimuli. Journal of international business studies, 37(5), 578-602.
This paper develops and tests a range of potential psychic distance stimuli including differences in culture, language, religion, education, and political systems. Using trade flows among a set of 38 nations as the dependent variable, it is shown that, whereas the majority of the proposed indicators prove to be statistically significant predictors of trade flows, the most common psychic distance surrogate – a composite measure of Hofstede's cultural dimensions – is not significant.
